Bioidentical Hormones
There are real vascular benefits to being on bioidentical hormone therapy for women. While a well-known 2002 study warned of the risks of hormone therapy, the truth is that the culprit was medroxy progesterone – a synthetic progestin. But being on any form of estrogen does NOT increase your risk of heart disease. Benefits have been shown to be stronger the longer women are on estrogen, particularly the transdermal (patch) estradiol, the sooner after menopause.
