In late September, I went hiking in Canada, and my daughter had a head cold. We were miles from civilization camping out and I thought: What can I give her? So I’m going to tell you how make bush tea.
I found dandelion leaves, bitter but medicinal, great as a diuretic tonic. It’s also a good source of Vitamin C.
And I found violet leaves, as well as yarrow which is a good immune booster. I also added chickweed for more Vitamin C.
Lastly, I came across usnea which helps clear the phlegm.
So I put all the ingredients in a tea can, fill it with hot water, cover it (with a rock) and let it seep. Then remove your herbs and if you have honey, you can add some for sweetness. Enjoy and stay healthy!
