Having just traveled to Chile as a doctor for the Atacama Desert Crossing, a 7-day marathon of 155 miles elevation in the Atacama desert, the driest desert on the planet, I want to give you recommendations for traveling safely.

Flying

It’s common for people to develop blood clots from sitting too long in an airplane. First, I recommend a baby aspirin (interic coated) 81mg as a blood thinner before getting on the plane. And during the flight, get up and stretch your legs every few hours.

Staying healthy away from home

-Colds: Carry Vitamin C and zinc with you.

-Pain or injury: I like a combination of two products by Designs for Health: Inflammatone as well as ArthroSoothe.

-Other: Imodium in case of diarrhea. Simethicone for gas symptoms. And Quercetin for allergies.
